Southern Christmas Dinner Recipes

We had so much fun with the Southern Thanksgiving Recipes collection, I thought I’d post my Christmas menu too!

I have to have ham on Christmas. I have to! And there are a few recipes that just go with ham so I have to have them too!

(the leftovers to be heated up and eaten again on New Year’s in this Southern tradition!)

(yeah, I know we had this on Thanksgiving too but it just goes SO WELL with ham!)

Since I can’t use the pan juices from this ham recipe for Greasy Rice, I buy 2 ham hocks and stew them down in 2 cups of water in a small crock pot the day before.

  1. This would be my husband's menu for Christmas too. I love a good ham and all your sides. Except I would save the black eyed peas until New Year's Day (good luck you know!). I'd love it if you shared this with Tumbleweed Contessa at Holiday Best.

  2. All of this sounds heavenly! What time is dinner?

  3. As a northern Colorado gal, this menu converted me to sayin' thangs like I'd be full as a tick on a hound dog! Thanks for sharing, Mandy!

  4. Wow, awesome menu! Pinning it! Merry Christmas!!

  5. These look scrumptious, thank you for sharing!

  6. OMG!! These desserts are really luscious. Will have them in my party for sure. Last time in my tea party had taken few recipes from Nom Video Sharing. Awesome food cooking videos are there which are easy to cook. Everyone was happy with my great preparations.

Hi there! While I’m not able to respond to every comment, I try hard to answer any questions that haven’t been addressed in the post, recipe or in other comments.

I can tell you now 1) I have no idea if you can substitute Minute Rice or brown rice in my recipes because I’ve never used them and 2) If I know how to convert a recipe to a Crock Pot version, I will make a note about it (otherwise, I don’t know).

And though I may not respond to them all, I do read each and every comment and I LOVE to hear from you guys! Thanks, y’all! - Mandy
