Top 10 Recipes of 2016

WHEW!! 2016 has been such a roller coaster! For me it brought good times and bad but through it all I had good friends, a healthy family and delicious food and for that, I am so thankful!

The Top 10 are listed below but I think if I had to pick ONE favorite for ME this year it would be the Party Shrimp (which came in a #10). I bet I made those succulent little gems a dozen times this year and they never failed me!

I say the Party Shrimp were my favorite but as I look over this list I have memories tied to each one of these recipes. Whether it was first serving the Man Bars to Brutus’ baseball team (the folks which have become our baseball family) or the time I made four pans of the Smothered Chicken Casserole on vacation with NO potato peeler (thanks again, Jenny 😎), each of these recipes have stories and I’m so glad you let me share them with you.

May 2017 be the BEST year EVER! Peace and bacon grease, y’all!

And without further ado, here are the Top 10 Recipes from 2016!

  1. Thanks Mandy for putting them all in one spot. Have made them all except the sweet recipes and they were outrageously good. I have lots of sites for recipes, (I cook for my church potlucks and every second Sunday breakfast) but I have found that South Your Mouth and The Reluctant Entertainer are my very favorite. Good, down home cooking from you and some different try's from TRE (recipes from my home state of Oregon). Blessing on you and your family and all you put your hands to in 2017, the year of rest, reflection and prosperity in all areas. Love your stuff! Linda

Hi there! While I’m not able to respond to every comment, I try hard to answer any questions that haven’t been addressed in the post, recipe or in other comments.

I can tell you now 1) I have no idea if you can substitute Minute Rice or brown rice in my recipes because I’ve never used them and 2) If I know how to convert a recipe to a Crock Pot version, I will make a note about it (otherwise, I don’t know).

And though I may not respond to them all, I do read each and every comment and I LOVE to hear from you guys! Thanks, y’all! - Mandy
